As the front line ofhealthcare providers, nurses have the most frequent interactions with patients. The value ofservices that major healthcare organizations and hospitals hope to deliver to patients istransmitted through their nurses' attitudes and behaviours. Workplace spirituality ofteninvolves one's ultimate purpose in life, bonding to co-workers and other people associatedwith work, and to align one's core beliefs with the values of their organization for asuccessful career. Nurses spend more time with patients, which require them to beempathetic and compassionate. Their involvement with patients leads nurses to have moreopportunities to provide spiritual care and to cultivate emotional relationships duringpatients' recovery. Indeed, there is a close relationship between the nature of spirituality andhealthcare professions, particularly among nurses.
