Über den/die AutorIn

Stuart Ball is 'Mr DIY' - so much so that he calls B&Q his second home. He is qualified in many areas - furniture making, wood turning, upholstery, and computer aided design, to name just a few - and is the proud owner of more power tools than most building companies. Stuart has undertaken many projects, most recently helping build a camper van with his older brother, Robert, a process through which he gained much experience of both how to, and how not to make and build the 1k camper - experience and knowledge that will make it so much simpler for you.

Matthew Ball has always had a keen interest in building things. At the age of 10 he was designing things such as an infinitely variable bike sprocket (that never worked), and a pedal hovercraft (that did). Not content with these, he later came across a copy of Ron Champion's 'Build your own sports car for as little as £250, and built his own sports car for £3000. His interest in moving objects and machines led him to gain a degree in mechanical engineering, a useful qualification when building the first 1k camper.
