Author

JATI SENGUPTA is Professor of Economics at the University of California Santa Barbara, USA. He is an international expert in efficiency theory and decision analysis under uncertainty. He has published three research monographs on applied efficiency theory including data envelopment analysis. He has international consulting experience at the World Bank, Ford Foundation and other agencies.

BIRESH SALOO is Associate Professor of Economics at the Amrita School of Business, India. He has been a recipient of the Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2001-02 under the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Postdoctoral Fellowship programme. His work has been published in scholarly journals, such as Annals of Operations Research, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Systems Science, International Journal of Applied Economics and Econometrics, Socio-Economic Planning Sciences and OPSEARCH. His research interest lies in production theory and its application using data envelopment analysis.
