Author

Caryl Hart is a full-time children's writer, who enjoys running creative events and workshops at schools, libraries and festivals. Her first picture book, Don't Dip Your Chips in Your Drink, Kate! won two regional awards, and was shortlisted for a third. Her Princess series, illustrated by Sarah Warburton, has sold over 220,000 copies worldwide. She lives in Sheffield with her husband and two daughters and a dog called Roo. When she's not writing she can be spotted hiking in the Peak District with Roo, swimming, chatting and sitting in cafes with a well-earned pot of tea.

Briony May Smith grew up in Sandhurst in Berkshire, playing in the garden with her younger brother and sister. She studied Illustration at Falmouth University, where she graduated with a 1st Class BA (Hons) and was Highly Commended for the Macmillan Children's book prize in 2013 and 2014. She has worked on concept art and character designs for animation and advertising and her books have been translated into over 20 languages. She now lives in Devon, where she is constantly inspired by her rural surroundings and beautiful coastline. Her work day mainly consists of writing, drawing and illustrating, interrupted only when her dog, Finbar, demands his walk.
